SUMMARY:Art Workshop: Creating a Vision Board for 2022
DESCRIPTION:Saturday / January 8\, 2022 / 1:00-4:00 pm / $46\nJoin Mary Lee Eischen and start your new year by developing a collage of what you are hoping for in 2022. \nParticipants will create a collage of their hopes and dreams for this year of 2022. The workshop will begin with a guided visualization to bring us into relaxation\, connect us with our body and stir our imaginations into making. Participants will have the opportunity to create their own images and designs with paper and with stitching. Images\, words and phrases will be available to use for each creation. The instructor will bring examples\, provide materials and guide the making for a fun afternoon of creating our visions for 2022. Participants are welcome to bring magazines\, fabric\, newspapers\, or other repurposed materials and a favorite scissors. The instructor will bring all additional materials. \nThe cost is $46.00 per person. Please make checks payable to the Winona Arts Center. Payments can be mailed to the Arts Center at 228 East 5th\, Winona\, MN 55987. DESCRIPTION:Sunday / January 16\, 2021 / 2:30-5:30pm\nIsland City Brewing / 65 East Front Street / Winona\, MN\nFREE \nOn the heels of a successful 2021 season\, Island City Brewing Co. and H3O Jazz Trio will ring in the new year with their January Jazz Jam supporting the Winona Arts Center. \nIn April 2021\, H3O Jazz Trio and Island City Brewing began raising funds for area nonprofits as part of their popular monthly Jazz Jams. The continuing generosity of Jazz Jam patrons resulted in over $1\,300 being donated to the Winona Immigration Network in December bringing total contributions to area nonprofits to over $7\,300 in 2021. \nEveryone wishing to sing\, play\, or cheer on their friends is welcome join the H3O Jazz Trio at Island City Brewing Company’s monthly Jazz Jam! The brewery follows all current CDC guidelines\, and all equipment will be sanitized between performers. \nAs a bonus\, Dr. John Paulson will sit in with H3O as a preview of his concert at the Winona Art Center on Saturday\, January 22 at 7 p.m. \nInterested players can choose their tunes from a wide selection. DESCRIPTION:Friday / January 21\, 2022 / 9:00-11:30 am / $35\nTo register for classes\, contact Faye at fschoen300@gmail.com. \nThe class fee includes all materials needed. The fee is non-refundable. Checks for class fees should be made payable to the Winona Arts Center and mailed to the Center at 228 East 5th Street or brought to the first class. \nParticipants will explore basic watercolor techniques including masking and wet on wet application. Students will be given step by step instruction to complete a finished piece during EACH session. The goal of the class to have fun\, let go\, relax and explore your creative side and enjoy the magical world that is unique to watercolor. \nMs. Schoen is a member of the Winona Arts Center\, River Arts Alliance\, and Lacrosse Society of Arts and Crafts. She participates in weekly painting sessions at Mississippi Mornings Studio. \nMasks and proof of vaccination or a negative Covid test 72 hours prior to the class are required.

DESCRIPTION:Buy Tickets Online\nIn addition to being a noted educator\, John Paulson has been playing jazz with various groups in the region for over 40 years. Along with his quartet\, he leads and writes all the music for the John Paulson Big Band\, which got its start at the Winona Arts Center with their premiere performance nearly 10 years ago. For this concert\, John will be joined by drummer Rich MacDonald (well known for his outstanding musicianship suited to a variety of styles)\, along with the brilliant Twin Cities guitarist Scott Gerry and bassist Eric Graham (know in the region for his solid time and amazing solos). The group will be performing a mix of recognizable jazz standards and time-tested originals. Tickets are $8 in advance or $10 at the door. Tickets are available through Eventbrite or Hardts Music\, 115 East 3rd Street in Winona.
