DESCRIPTION:Richard Spiller\, a local potter from Wisconsin will offer a pinch pot class on September 10 from 1 to 3 pm. Using small balls of clay\, the students will use their natural ability to seize and grasp to form small vessels. Spiller has been a potter and a ceramic artist for 50 years and has taught in Europe\, Finland\, Latvia and Russia as well as universities in the US. \nThe cost is $30 per person and payment is required prior to the class. SUMMARY:SuminagashiScape: The Driftless with Dawn Tevis
DESCRIPTION:Saturday / October 22 / 10:00 am-12:00 pm\nSuminagashi is an ancient and meditative Japanese marbling art that was practiced at least as early as the 12th century. This project is designed to help people connect more deeply to their local landscape by creating environment-inspired paper marbling art. Suminagashi stations will be set up that allow participants to experiment with a few ink prints in an indoor setting. Most other events have been outdoors.
