SUMMARY:Suminagashi with Dawn Tevis
DESCRIPTION:Cost: $45 members / $50 non-members\nJoin us on February 21 from 2pm to 4:30 pm at the Winona Arts for another Dawn Tevis Suminagashi class. Celebrate cozy winter with the meditative process of Suminagashi\, or ink floating\, a Japanese paper marbling art at least as old as the 12th century. You’ll float ink in dynamic patterns on water and print unique images on your choice of surfaces\, including notecards\, coasters\, and specialty papers. \nWhether a beginner or practitioner\, you’ll expand your skills by experimenting with new effects and materials and leave with works you can enjoy as-is or use for bookmaking\, painting\, drawing\, and more. Also included will be a take-home supply of protective finish to apply to the coasters once they dry. \nClass is $45 for members and $50 for non-members\, ages 12 and up. No experience necessary. Early arrival is highly recommended.\n\nTravel back in time with Emmy Award winning songwriter Jack Norton for a concert of vaudeville blues\, country\, and vintage Americana folk music. Oddball ukulele legend Tiny Tim hailed Norton as “the greatest entertainer I have ever seen!” The Minneapolis Star Tribune called Jack “one of the most entertaining acoustic musicians in the Midwest.” His performances are an authentic throwback to a simpler time and bygone era. This performance will be filmed.
